1) Who is Gurudev?

The Person who removes all sins (‘anarthas’) present within His disciples; who is capable of taking his pupils to Krishna’s lotus feet; who does not wish for His disciples’ welfare for one life but countless lives, can be called as Gurudev. None other than Sri Gurudev can give a Jiva, the spiritual eye of Bhakti, the other-worldly eye of Prem or a Divine body. The subject of Acharya is a matter of transmission of Kripa Shakti from main Ashray Vigraha, that is, Srimati Radharani. In other words, Gurudev embodies Hladini or Kripa Shakti, whose source is Sri Radha. It is impossible for anyone to frame, endorse, rectify, direct or reject an Acharya.

2) How is a Real Guru in the Preceptorial Line chosen?

Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakura Prabhupada

Acharya is Krishna karuna shakti. We come to know from the words of Great people that an Acharya is designated through the command of Sri Gaursundar and Radha-Govinda. A Guru cannot be selected by few voluptuaries and people guided by shadripu (the six enemies of our soul). Moreover, He is not elected by means of votes. A person enmeshed in material actions cannot embellish the position of Acharya. Only that person can occupy the post of Acharya,

who has received the key to Prem wealth (‘dhan’) from his Gurudev and who has been indicated or instructed to play the role of next Acharya in the preceptorial line of succession. Srila Prabhupada said, “Nowadays, the work of Acharya has turned into a business.” Biased pseudo gurus have commenced to play the part of Satguru and deceive common people by pretending to sing the song of eternal Truth before them.

3) What is the difference between Bhakti and Karma, Gyan, and Yoga?

                                                                                        Sripad Brajadulal Das

While delivering His speech, Sripad Brajadulal Das says:
A person devoid of Bhakti, but performing karma and having gyan cannot attain bliss. One cannot gain the fruit of Bhakti through karma, gyan, and yoga. Bhakti can independently bear fruit. In other words, Bhakti itself can give Prem (ecstatic love) as fruit. But, yoga, gyan, and karma cannot independently produce and donate fruit---these remain dependent on Bhakti, and get life by being subordinate to the latter. In the absence of Bhakti, gyan, austerity, and renunciation only serve to induce jouissance in people. For example, I am remaining detached from the material world, yet not practicing kirtan and the art of listening, recollecting devotional songs and lectures on God. What has God received through such deeds? Can we reach a blissful state through such an action? If we perform Bhakti, gyan would remain subservient to it; there is no need of doing penance—the fruit of gyan and austerity can be acquired through Bhakti.
